About

The Global News Network was initially created in 2008. Designed as a community based project entitled ” The Munich Expatriate Forum”, the forum aimed to provide Munich’s English speaking expatriates with the opportunity to share differing perspectives on a variety of topics including politics and policy, art and culture, business news, travel and environmental issues. While the goal of this site remains the same  –  we are still concerned with “providing expats with a sense of a coherent community whilst simultaneously seeking to reflect a diversity of opinions”, an expansion in global readership and contribution means that the new title more appropriately reflects the site’s content.

Think of this as a platform to address our individual concerns, to research, and to discover more about intercultural possibilites and opportunities on an international level.

  1. Dear Munichexpat bloggers,

I stumbled upon your blog during my online research on expatriates in Munich, and I think you are doing a great job with blogging about aspects of German culture from an outside point of view. Since you focus on the expat experience, I’d very much like to introduce Internations.org — a Munich-based global network for people living and working abroad — to your organization. Maybe you could recommend it as a resource to your readers or include our site in a link list or on a blogroll.

InterNations.org is the global networking site with over 230 local communities and more than 120,000 members. Hundreds of our members in Munich and other German cities come from all parts of the Anglophone world, esp. the UK and the States. Our two local contactpersons here in Munich are, for example, two businessmen from the USA.

For this reason, we believe that your readers might benefit from knowing about us. We’d like to kindly ask you to place a link to our homepage on your blog. Of course, you are cordially invited to register with us and have a look at our network. The registration process is free of charge and will only take a few minutes.

You can get in touch with me via e-mail (m[dot]grobbel[at]internations[dot]org). I’m really looking forward to hearing from you.

    Best,
    Margit
