In Uncategorized on December 9, 2009 at 1:03 am

Banish those winter blues and slough away dead skin cells with this exfoliating and softening honey and aspirin mask, leaving your skin feeling baby soft and looking radiant!

You will need: 2-3 uncoated aspirin tablets

a few drops of water

2 tbl spoons of honey

Method: 1) In a shallow dish add a few drops of water to the aspirin tablets and leave

to soak for a few minutes, or until the aspirin has softened.

2) Add the honey to the aspirin and mix to form a paste.

3) Spread the mask evenly over entire face and relax for 15-20 mins.

4) Remove the mask with warm water and a soft towel, rubbing gently to

exfoliate and get rid of the dead skin cells.

*This mask is particularly good for problem skin,

a cleansing mask useful in the treatment

of acne *

5) Moisturise your face thoroughly and enjoy the feel of silky soft, smooth

skin.

What makes this mask work?

“Aspirin is great for your skin. The basic function of it is as an analgesic and antipyretic, but more importantly, as far as skin care, is its anti-inflammatory power. This is important when it comes to treatment of acne and other inflammation processes on the skin. Aspirin also contains acetyl-salicylic acid AKA Beta Hydroxy Acid, widely used in cosmetics as it is able to slough off skin cells thus preventing the clogging of pores.”
